In bounds slide at solitude off the powder horn lift, The crown was 84 feet wide, 3 feet deep, It slid a ways but not sure exact distance. Sketchy here in utah with this new snow.

This footage was caught on January 25th, 2012 in the backcountry near Montezuma. It features Pro Snowboarder Meesh Hytner being caught in a sizeable (~class 3) avalanche and deploying her Float 30 avalanche airbag before taking a long ride.

James Heim and the Matchstick Productions crew just had an epic 10 day shoot at Chatter Creek in Eastern BC. I too shredded this storm and knew how special it was. When I had heard that Abma had told Mike Douglas that is was the 'deepest day ever,' I called James Heim to see if it was true. Here's what he said.

Lucky for Neil, he has been far away from utah this winter, and recently returned home from a 3 week dream trip to the Interior BC snowglobe. I wanted to show him right away what our snowpack looks like in the wasatch, what he saw was enough convincing, and we both agreed to start packing for the great white north. The avalanche dragon is fierce in utah, and he is more HUNGRY than ever. Ian
