winter survival

What do you do when you're stranded in the backcountry? Looking for a course on winter survival, somewhere in AB or BC. Couple days, building snow shelters, etc. Hands-on.

winter survival
That's a great idea. You can try calling some local flight training schools. Often they make it manditory for new pilots. I have takin out aviation students from MRC. We gave them 3 items including what ever they could fit in a normal size paint can (survival kit). They were allowed to go in groups of two, this would give them 6 items, one being a shovel to build the snow cave. They learnt alot in 3 days. Early night fall in the winter isn't so scary when you have this training. Good Luck. |
