Dec or Jan
Early Dec or early Jan. for 3-4 nights $6-800. Looks like lift is pretty cheap. I've been to Whistler and Big White and thought Banff looked more like Whistler. What is the shuttle time to the lift?

Banff is about 20 mins from Sunshine Village gondola and 45 mins from Lake Louise. Most hotels have a shuttle that you can get picked up with if you don't rent a car. The closest heli skiing is probably in Golden BC @ http://www.purcellhelicopterskiing.com/ or http://canadianheli-skiing.com/.

Hi Mike!
As Peakz said the
Hi Mike! As Peakz said the best/closest would be either of the 2 heli ops here in Golden. As you can see by my login name, I work for Great Canadian Heli-Skiing. We mainly do multi-day trips, but do occassionally do Single Days. Purcell Heli-Skiing mainly specialises in doing Single Day. Were you looking to do 1 or more days of heli? I'm guessing you are interested in a Single Day. If you just compare pricing we will appear more expensive, but what you should do is actually compare WHAT you get (ie group size and the amount of skiing). We run our Single Day program like it was part of our regular multi-day program, so this means you get; - UNLIMITED vertical! We will guarantee you SIX runs minimum ! Yes, 6 as a minimum. If conditions and ability allow, you can do more. Strong groups can do 8 or 9 - Small Groups: we ski exclusively in groups of 4 plus a highly experienced guide. Other operations ski in large groups of 12....thats more than a soccer team in 1 group :p The small groups format is also faster as there's less people to organise in/out of the heli, re-grouping in the terrain etc. It also helps minimise any difference in abilities which is a big factor to consider. There are definitely cheaper options out there.....but those options give you only 3-5 runs guaranteed and you are in a large group of up to 12. If you need more info, drop us a line (details at www.canadianheli-skiing.com). Whatever you end up doing, have a great holiday! |
