:?: My kid's a Marine @ Camp LeJeune. He's snowboarded in CA & NM(or was it Arizona..?). Other spots that won't cost him a month's pay?

You might be asking the wrong crowd here dude. Seriously. Tell'em to go mountain biking, or kayaking -- apparently they've got world-class rivers around there. Or hit the beach for some po'boys w/ crabcakes. (Might mean I gotta quit the marines, but then I'd probably do that too, and then move to northern Cali and look for some actual mountains.... )

Hey,Coldsmoke- kind of thought so. He bought himself a mountain bike this year but gets distracted w/ alcohol & interests in women. The kayaking sounds cool, I think maybe the one thing he hasn't done... unless I missed a year somewhere.

Haha, that's pretty sweet Pat... I'm aware that my post wasn't exaclty very helpful,... so I'm glad you took it in the right spirit! ;) 'Whadaya gonna do' is right. hehe. Maybe you should convince him to go on that BC ski holiday afterall -- he might never come back!! I really did hear great things about the rivers in those parts though. My wife's from Maryland. A friend of mine found this out, and being an avid whitewater paddler, started raving about the rivers, at least in Virginia anyways...

There are several hills in NC - Appalachain has a sick terrain park scene if he is into that. Sugar Bowl has ~1000 feet of vert and might have already opened. There are 8 of them to choose from. |
