don't give a rats ass about the people mover at big white, smaller lines I guess = getting to the cliff easier/faster. The attridge one I have mixed feelings about. It is the best zone on the mountain in my opinion so now it will be tracked out super fast where before it would hold snow well after lunch. But I will be able lap it on slow days. One other thing, there won't be as many gapers travessing under the cornice at the top, and less tracks cutting right across the fall line.

the 6pack at biggy is just gonna put more people on the runs and less in the line, perfect if you like skiing elbow to elbow

Yup, what he said. More people on the hill and also more people in the Rocket area instead of going high and staying high to avoid getting back into an enormous lift line. It should spread people out a lot more. Rumour at this stage is that the 6 pack will be running every day with the Rocket open busier days.

What I have noticed
I skied up at silver star during the holiday season and I have to admite I think the new Alpine chair is a hit. Firstly, it gets people away from the crowded Comet express. Secondly, it is great to rip some laps on attridge with limited line ups. The only downside is there is no special strass of pow on the front side anymore. It is all tracked out; due to the new lift. Good times.

New lift at biggies
Cliff Chair.....Good and bad Bad  On the other hand we have a lot of really lazy people on the mountain that do not want to work for there turns. What i mean is instead of hiking to there line of choice the get off the chair and hit the first gate they see and traverse all the way around to the bowl below the rock to a line that they eyed up from the chair. When one does this they all seem to do it. This inturn creates a terrible traverese line in the snow that can couse real havoc to those that actually choose to hike up to the good lines higher up the mountain. Before the chair you had to take the t bar to the top which would encourage more people to either make the shorter hike to parachute gate or ski down to the lower gates then ski them fall line. Anyways hopefully some day people will get the idea on how to ski this terrain. |
