FYI - this photo was taken on the big west wall adjacent from Mt. Macbeth in the Spearhead range of the coast mountains on Feb 16, 2012. The west slopes seem to be very thin and unsupported this year on the Blackcomb side of things. A very hollow base has snow bridged across it and it's obviously reacting to solar radiation. Definitely this is a heads up to us to not get caught in the valley during climax events from these large slopes.-tg
shot straight on at the face on a high slope on the other side of the valley
shot from side angle above the slope. a big, scary sweeper.
