Venue Recommendations Needed: Biglines 10th Anniversary Bash, Calgary

We want to throw a big party this fall in Calgary and would like some recommendations for any venues that might work. We're hoping to combine it with the BL Freeride Scholarship awards that night too.

A big bar is probably what we want. It'll be a 18+ event. I remember doing one at Coyotes once, I'm not even sure if that place still exists but it worked except for the crappy sound.

A bar also works best because we have to have booze and don't want the hassel of dealing with liquor liscenses etc...

Anyone have any recommendations of places I should start looking?

Hopefully we can get all the old crowd out for a big reunion.

Speakeasy

has a liquor license and lots of big TV screens.

Those who like it, like it a lot.

another idea

Flight Deck more pub-ish, has a stage and will do private events.

find the line, get to the line, ski the line, but don't cross the line.

Good point...

anyone remember "Ski Bums" at Cowboys?  All the g-'d up club crowd, milling about at the back, waiting for all the skids to leave.

Coyote's was pretty freakin fun though.  Lots of friendly "slightly-older-ladies" were there.  Although, a lot of us are now the same age as the cougars that were hunting us back then.

Those who like it, like it a lot.

LID - those were good times.

LID - those were good times. Only bad part was the sound sucked for listening to the scholarship nominees. No one listens to them after 3 drinks anyways so maybe it doesn't matter!

We're potentially looking at Oct 14th, which is the Thursday night of Freshtival. One option is the Marquee room in the theater but I'm worried it'll be too small.

Something that is walking distance from the theater is important.

One thing for sure is that there'll be a TON of swag. I pretty much want everyone who comes to get something...

Someone needs to post a picture from our last 'picnic' in this thread! And yes even S4L will be invited.

Pack your Saxaphone

Haha... it would be worth going just to see S4L/GhEtToChIlD show up in a purple car with his frosted tips and saxaphone! Laughing

I have no idea if I'll be able to make it, but I'll try. I'm always up for a good picnic!

Distillery Rock n Roll

Distillery Rock n Roll ballroom.

Big stage, good sound system (lots of bands), 2 super chill owners who will outdrink all of your asses combined.
