Here's my first ever trip report. Lake Louise has been off the hook this season. I had a great week so I thought I would share.

Things were looking grim before this past weekend, I thought the rain had reached the alpine and the snow would be shit, boy was I wrong. On the weekend I had some amazing powder turns inbounds just skiing by myself, I have some of my best days alone, not having to wait for people, riding the singles line and just going where I want to. But Monday to Wednesday was spent in the slacker country with my buddy Simon.

We had some great snow in the dogleg(pictured) and the skinny chute skiers right of it.

Pipestone area was stellar, one of my favorite zones for powder turns.

Wednesday was spent skiing around Lipalian. Here's our 'classic' turns down a nice bowl. My line is on the left, I've tightened up and learned to appreciate making turns lately.

Looking down another run.

It was another beautiful day in Lake Louise.

This is one of the sweetest TRs I've seen lately. I hope to be out your way late April to get a slice of my own.

Sick......... I haven't had decent pow since march 2nd at KHMR. Haven't been to the lake since I raced when I was a kid, what are the hiking times like for those zones? Looks like you are going northish off of the back bowls????

Nice shots. Is that 3rd last photo Purple Bowl? My first real backcountry skiing was done there when I was 16.

Hey everyone thanks for the great feedback. Rob, that shot of our tracks is on the backside of Purple, there is a lot of cool terrain you can access there.

I don't want to go into details about how to get to these spots, the less people there the better. The Lake is limitless in the amount of terrain you can access, on top of every ridge is a whole new ski resort worth of terrain, how far you're willing to go is up to you.

Play safe out there, this season has seen a lot of people triggering avalalanches and a lot of people have had to be rescued by Parks Canada from just outside the ski area boundary. It always looks tempting to jump into that untracked line, but remember you have to get back up and be prepared to deal with bad situations such as avalanches, injury or fatigue.

Also please don't walk on a skin track. If you were dumb enough to ski out of bounds without skins or snowshoes you shouldn't wreck a set skin trail. And if you see people down below you please stay away from cornices and wait untill they are in a safe area before you drop in and potentially trigger an avalanche on them- I've seen a lot of stupid people out there.

Thanks

Awesome pics!

Those pictures are amazing. They make me want to take a trip up north and hit the powder at Lake Louise right now!
