I'm going to have to just list in bounds zones, because there are so many great line choices that its hard to narrow it down. Bre-x and options in the Dive at Sunshine for its, steepness, consistency, length and quality of snow. The whole dive offers a-1 terrain Whitewall the whole ridge at KHMR offer tonnes of sick lines Ymir Peak lines at Whitewater Blackcomb - Spankys and Chainsaw are all sick - Whistler - Peak - so many options

From what i've skiid I would say the top line is the first * super skinny chute * off of CPR Ridge in kickinghorse. = for steepness, skethyness and all out speed. Second, I would have to rate Corner pocket in Fernie, for again skethyness pow and speed!. Third I love whitehorn 2 gullies at louise. 4th I love Whitewall at kickighorse 5th any chute off terminator ridge on kickinghorse.

I'd have to say Cradle Mountain in Tasmania Australia has some of my all time. it's an area you can only get to if you are willing to book pack, but yeah that place is the shit you have the choice of so many lines on the face or the backside. I miss home. :( :( oh wait was this just for canadain lines? oh well fuck it!

I like cruising Wi waxy (don't laugh) and any front side Louise groomer when everything has turned to bumps and out of bounds is unsafe or if I'm really stoned. My absolute fav are Whitehorn 2 shoots, especially skiing the spines, it's got rocks everywhere and nice drops onto steep landings.

Sorry to bring back such an old thread. I was searching chainsaw ridge to see what was posed and this came up. None the less I feel this was a good thread and I would like to add. 1 - is False Face on Blackcomb followed by Hawaii 5.0! 2 - Sapphire bowl or Diamond bowl off Spankys ladder on Blackcomb. 3 White wall at KHMR 4 Terminator ridge at KHMR 5 White horn 2 gullies off Louise. These are some of the runs I have experienced. There are still many great lines out there to be had!

mt harrison coulouir - bull river. 55 degrees, fairly wide, of the summit of an 11,000 er kc's coulouir - castle. 58 degrees at the steepest, kinda narrow, only 45 mins from the chairlift 10 spiece coulouir - castle. definately 50 + degrees, only 3 or 4 metres wide at points 3/4 coulouir - morraine lake (?) aemer coulouir - mt temple (especially if you were you climb "journey to the moon" WI 5 to get there!!)

the 7,000 ft run of mt christain (lyells group) is pretty sick too, but it's just a long ass run, not so much a sick line. the line off the top of three sisters in fernie to pretty sexy looking from town too... down the middle front face, then cut skiers left into the coulouir between middle and right hand sister.... and then there's the S facing chutes on hosmer mtn you can see from downtown fernie too.... man western canada has no shortage of sick lines!

as demonstrated in the past 2 pages there are plenty of great lines to be skied in bounds at "most" resorts. i will skip the top five for two reasons. 1- my top fives changes with the weather and snow conditions 2- its too subjective to personal tastes. that being said i will put this out there. of all the places i have been, and all the fantastic lines i have skied, both in and out of bounds. there is one thing that stand out above all others. if your trying to rack up mass vertical, with very varied terrain options, steeps, drops, billy goat, high speed. its almost impossible to beat paradise chair laps in ER5 when its filled in and good to go. theres never a line on that chair, theres always great pockets to hit, hang a right off the chair and voila...right to the bottom again. you can even change it up by dropping into the top of ER6 then cutting into lower 5. no its not a louise biased type reply and yes wh2 is great, wh3 is a whole other world when the boys in red give you the ok to play there.. but like i said..for pure mass vertical laps its ER5..name one thing that compares ;) dives great, whistler and its sister are awesome but all these other lines mentioned earlier involve a fair sized lap/turn around time. chainsaw is almost an hour, the dive is roughly an hour etc etc etc. ER5 drop in to drop in in under 20min all day long including a stop at paradise tree every few laps..lol this being said im anxious to leave the far north, take my vacation and sample all your top fives. ;) Merry ho-ho to all and play safe

its not a run. you've got to pretty much know the patrol personally before they'll consider letting you in there. but good fun when they do!

Does anybody happen to have pictures? I'd be interested in seeing the skiable areas in Whitehorn 3, from what I gathered, if it is between Whitehorn 2 and boomerang, I remember it being just a face of rocks and looks almost un skiable.

Didn't they hold one of the freeski comps in WH3 a few years ago? Or maybe they were planning to and it was too boney. On a big snow year you can see some pretty wild stuff in there, although I've never seen tracks personally.
