do those two go hand in hand??

relocating due to work, moving after the holidays to the sunshine coast ( the one in BC not australia...damn)

now i already know whistler is 2hrs away including the ferry ride to horseshoe bay, and i heard some rumour that this "team dirt" fellow had a pad in whistler with a surf the couch by feeding my beer habit policy ;) so i might have to track said guy down. as well the sea to sky leads to plenty of nice playgrounds.

I am however wondering if theres any turns to be had on the sunshine coast itself? obvioulsy theres mtns and snow so a guy could go find something to play on, and seeing as i wont be in a national park anymore the sledding option just sky rocketed to the top of the list ;)

but in an effort to minimize those wickedly fun exploration days where you put yourself in unpleasant places trying to find new goods i thought i would ask the folks on here.

who knows, maybe theres some awesome little area to go touring in and not even leave the ssunshine coast?

or maybe im just dreaming ad will have to accept whistler...could be worse i suppose...i could be stuck skiing only sunshine ;)

thanks for any info you have

as a side note forget the island..if im gonna be on a ferry 2 hrs to get to the island i may as well drive south to baker

Hmm not one of those web sites shows anything remotely resembling tilted terrain "excellent cross country", "some teli-able (is that a word?) slopes" " good ski touring".

Sorry man, sounds like you are hooped. :(

well im not sure i would call being within 2hrs of whistler hooped since theres plenty of nicely angled terrain in that area.

chump...i accepted years ago that i was hopeless...so dont be sorry..lol but be sure to visit if your heading that way, might have to take you on another ride, this time with no national park regulations dictating where we go,
or land

theres mountains, theres snow...damnit theres gotta be nice turns somewhere ;) if and when i find them ill be sure to let ya know.

everything about the move has me incredibly stocked, the new home, the town, the ocean in my back yard, the job.

two things bug me, not having so many resorts withing a short drive, and more importantly parting ways with some great ski partners.

yeah,

my good bro just moved to sechelt from fernie, he is now a fisherman, he used to be a skier... he bought a boat and traps crabs for fun..yeah whistler is not far, and when i lived in whistler i would go and visit friends down there all the time, not a bad drive reallly..

if i was you id buy a boat and a mountain bike, skiing will have to take the back burner for awhile..the mountain bike is the tool for the coast, you are lucky...
