Portland... skiing??

Hey,

I am considering a move to Portland... I'm coming from Calgary (having also lived in Nelson and Whistler among other places), and anyways, like all y'all I'm a rather avid skier. I'm wondering where the ski goods are at for Portlanders...??

Any advice from the Pacific NW locals? Best bang for my buck? Places I should consider buying a season's pass? Backcountry areas and access? Best short-drive spots to hit?

We're really thinking about this move. I'm planning a trip in January to go scope out the city and surroundings. So I really wanna know, would I be living in a city with access to good skiing?? What do you all think?
