Hey all, just wanted to put this out there and at least explain some of the ads that are coming through the new site. So the deal is that we have an ad agency serving us ads, (and paying us money- oohh!!). They are a sports targeted ad agency, but I will be the first to admit that some of the ads coming through are super f@#$ing lame like that "Singles" one, but we at Biglines dont have control over the ads they serve. They serve us some great ones that are really relevant, but some crappy ones too. So let us know what you think. At the end of the day, Im still going to take their money and pump it back into the site to get you guys stoked, but just wanted to let you know we aren't going soft and clicking on those links. Only Scrimger is. Haha!!!

Basically, if biglines.com ran banners for baby seal skin go-go boots I'd still log on. I love you guys! Also, have you stopped branding user submitted photos with your logo? I think that's a good move. Not that I don't like your logo, but it was kind of distracting on the pics. And by this time everybody knows that you have the best darn ski photo section on the internet!

Actually I noticed that and it's an unintentional mistake on my end. I do agree the logo is rather big so until something cleaner is figured out the logo stays off.

wouldn't hurt to make the video icon more opaque as well. Most sites that put the logo on a vid at least make it see through. p

Take the money and run guys! Doesn't matter if the content isn't entirely on-topic (god knows we users occasionally stray from the topic at hand). Although I dislike pop-over/under's intensely, they are quite manageable if you're a person who cares.

I like how you're getting paid by advertisers for the privilege of posting their ads on the same website where you post threads declaring that such ads are "super f#@cking lame" and that to click on their ads would mean you're "going soft"! haha :) I'd like to add that baby seal skin is exceptionally soft on the calves... oooh, so comfy. |
