Moving to Steamboat for January
Tue, 2006-10-31 14:19
I am looking to move to Steamboat for the last week of December and entire month of January. Anyone have any advice for me? I have never been to Steamboat before but figure now is the time to go! Do you know of any good sites to check out to find a place to stay? Also, do I need a car there? Cant decide if I should drive out or not...

You should be able to find a place to stay for a month or so after christmas. It gets a little easier to find a place to stay once the season gets rolling and christmas is over. If your not too picky im sure you can find somebody renting out a room for under $500. You might be able to find a 1 bedroom apartment/condo for 6-8 hundred a month. Most the rental ads are in the local paper- Steamboatpilot.com Steamboat is small enough that you can get by without a car. There is good bus service to most parts of town. Only problem is that its expensive to get a shuttle to denver if you want to get out of town. I would recommend you bring a pickup truck with a sled in the back. Plenty of backcountry spots to keep you busy all winter, and you could pick up an ok sled cheaper then a season pass![/code] |
