Marker Tour F12
Thu, 2011-04-28 11:16
Just posting to find out people's opinion of the Tour F12 bindings. I bought some in January for Rossi S7s... skiied them for approx 20 days in bounds and 10 touring days. After a few weeks riding, the toe peice on both bindings started to move forward and backward. Stupidly, I continued to ski them, tightening the heelpeices to stay in them and the play increased and increased until the day came that they just wouldn't hold on. At this point there was about 3/4" of movement front to back on both toepeices. So they are shipped off to Marker and I haven't heard any feedback from them as of yet. little more info: - I'm 5'6, 160lbs and a pretty aggressive skier. - boots are Dynafit TLT700 (possible mismatch with Tour F12??), when I first noticed the movement, I also noticed that the height adjustable gliding AFD could have been putting upwards pressure on the toepeice as it seemed like the AFD was acting as a fulcrum, creating the pressure on the toe peice. Could this pressure have led to the breakdown of both toe peices? The AFD has always been all the way in to the AT boot setting (all the way back). - Just to cover this right away... I did not (and still don't) kick the toepeice to remove snow from my boot. I am far from a ski tech and so I am just looking to gather more information from people with experience. I've done some looking online and it does seem to be a fairly common issue, so I'll probably switch to the Baron or Duke for my slackcountry setup. Any thoughts or comments would be much appreciated.

does your boot have a rocker
does your boot have a rocker toe? if so, then it is a mismatch for a binding with an AFD. Quite possible you didn't have your toe pressure set up properly, but it could still potentially be a warrenty. I say skip the Dukes and buy dynafit bindings....

toe rocker...
Does this qualify as a rocker toe? I would assume, yes! Fingers crossed on warranty.
I do wish I would have gone Dynafit from the start. Will I lose the integrity of the skis (176 S7s) if I have Dynafit bindings mounted? I don't know much about redrilling skis.
Also, has anyone skiied S7s with Dynafits mounted? If so, how is it?
Thanks!!

i skied a peak with Matty
i skied a peak with Matty Richard last week who has dynafits on super 7s. he slayed the peak on them. some people are really strict about redrilling skis. I have dynafits on my Salomon Czars and they are redrilled. As long as you get a pro to do it, it shouldn't be a problem. and yes, those are rockered toes.
