Any comments on the 4 buckle freeride style ski boots from Garmont and Scarpa? I'm looking for something where the plastic won't get so worn off on sled running boards but are still burly enough for some Head monster 105's. They have to hold up to 260lbs of large guy.

Hurricanes are rad. They might be a little lower in the cuff then you are used to but they should be easily stiff enough to move a pair of mojo 105's around. If you wan the same boot essentially with a walk mode, go for the typhoon.

Anyone with some feedback after the winter? Running boards on newer sleds chew my ski boots to pieces so I want some rubber soles.

check out the lange banshee pro's. they have a replaceable vibram sole on them. they boots can be made to accommodate any foot size easily and with the addition of a rivot would stiffen them up for you more. super comfy boot in my opinion. and with a couple of screws you can replace the sole easy. take a look at em

I logged 65+ days on the Typhoons last year and I personlly think they are a fantastic AT boot.  They are a bit on the heavy side of things but the stiffness more than makes up for that on the way down.

My biggest peice of advice is ditch the ride soles immediately and look into getting the vibram hiking soles from Scarpa, they make scrambling up scree much, much safer.

If you are looking for a boot with tech inserts you may also want to check out the Scarpa Mobe, it's essentially the same boot but with dynafit compatible inserts

over 160 days/2 seasons

I have typhoons and i put about 160 + days on them in the past two seasons.  The only thing that I don't like is that from time to time the ankle screws will loosen up and I even lost one once.  You really need to watch when you are in tour/walk mode.  Considering the milage that I put on these boots I am very happy with the performance.  Frankly I spend most of my time on the resort.

As far as pushing around big skis, I am the Canadian Fat-ypus Distributor.  I am on the 190cm A-Lotta Rocker quite often with dimensions of 172/140/158 mm one of the biggest skis on the market bar none and I don't have many issues.  On the other hand the skis w/o bindings only weigh 11lbs.
