Highwood Pass

Looking for information about the snow conditions at Highwood Pass over the course of October. I've hiked there before and know all the basics, but recently have moved away (to Revelstoke) I'll be in Banff a few times this month and was hoping to get some early season turns there.

Needs more time
I was there October 26. We didn't ski anywhere near the parking lot of the pass after seeing a grizzly bear in close proximity to where we wanted to go. we continued south on highway 40 and found an area that looked half decint. once hiked we quickly found that the snow was only just covering the ground. needs a little more time.

Will Find out tomorrow
Planing on heading in that direction tomorrow. Reading the reports it sounds pretty thin with less then steller stabilty. I will let you know how it is |
