Nadia Samer, Kasie Stroshin and Jen Ashton made the brave decision to take me snowmobiling and skiing up the Rutherford. We had fun inhaling the wonderful 2-stroke fumes and got a little powder skiing in while we were up there. Read more for the shenanigans!

Friday Funday at Whistler Blackcomb: Enough Snow for Everyone

My days of the week go as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Fraturday, Saturday, and newly-discovered 'Funday,' which happens to fall on the real world's Friday, but in reality is Sunday in my work/ski calendar. And Funday it was on January 15th, with 70cms pounding Whistler Blackcomb in 24 hrs. I almost had to go buy a snorkel, seriously. Read more for pics and the story.

Christmas Day on Blackcomb

Winter is in full swing in Whistler right now, and a lucky few of us stuck around during the holiday to enjoy it. Santa didn’t deliver snow for Christmas. Instead, he gave us a crazy warm inversion that softened up the few-day-old snow on the mountain and led to a hugely enjoyable Christmas ski day on Blackcomb.

On Wednesday, December 16, a handful of lucky shredders were blessed with an early Christmas present: a storm day. A really good one. Followed by another semi-clear pow day on Thursday. Yessssss. Blasting through pillows mid-mountain on Blackcomb felt like Luigi on Super Mario Brothers stomping on evil mushrooms top to bottom. The best part was pioneering new tree runs on the "Excelera-tour" de rad with Sheldon Steckman. Read More.

Good thing someone called me this morning to ask me if I was skiing already, otherwise I would have slept right through a surprise! pow day. Blackcomb opened. It really REALLY opened. Spanky's, the glacier, Seventh.... you could ski pretty much everything. Read more for video.
