Getting Lucky on Blackcomb: St. Patrick's Day at W/B

A few of us got lucky this St. Patrick's day with some creamy March snow and moderate temperatures. Basically we searched for that pot'o'gold at the end of the rainbow, and found some pockets of powder instead. Read more for photos.

Winter's Back at Whistler Blackcomb: 53cms in 48 hours

Well, today didn't suck. W/B received half a meter of snow in the past 48 hours, and a few of us went up the mountain to do some serious quality testing. You know, to make sure Whistler Blackcomb is still the top ski resort in North America. Results are in: it still is.

The Olympics are actually pretty fun. There are lots of free concerts, and all the crowds are in the village and not up the mountain. We took advantage of all this and had a pretty sweet time skiing. Check it out.

All Quiet on the Whistler Front

“Aaaaahhhhhh! The ‘Lympix are coming!” proclaimed a sign at the base of Excelerator Chair on Blackcomb last week. That “Aaaaahhhhhhh” of fear is now a cry of excitement that although the village has been overtaken by the masses, we have our precious mountain all to ourselves for the next two weeks. Early January at W/B, So Far So Good

W/B No New Snow? No Problem!

The high-pressure system visiting Whistler is acting a lot like the unwelcome couch surfer who sticks around long past their welcome. Oh well, at least it means sunshine and safer backcountry conditions. What better time to go for a walk or two?
