The Olympics are actually pretty fun. There are lots of free concerts, and all the crowds are in the village and not up the mountain. We took advantage of all this and had a pretty sweet time skiing. Check it out.
“Aaaaahhhhhh! The ‘Lympix are coming!” proclaimed a sign at the base of Excelerator Chair on Blackcomb last week. That “Aaaaahhhhhhh” of fear is now a cry of excitement that although the village has been overtaken by the masses, we have our precious mountain all to ourselves for the next two weeks. 2010 has begun at Whistler Blackcomb and it started with a powsplosion of fireworks and blizzards, so this year is sure not to disappoint. Don't believe me? Read more for proof.
The high-pressure system visiting Whistler is acting a lot like the unwelcome couch surfer who sticks around long past their welcome. Oh well, at least it means sunshine and safer backcountry conditions. What better time to go for a walk or two?

No words can describe the amazingness of opening week on Whistler mountain, save for the following: epic, incredible, stupid awesome, powtastic, deeeep, woop woop, and I guess there are a few more.
...and the best part? It's STILL SNOWING!
