Getting Lucky on Blackcomb: St. Patrick's Day at W/B

A few of us got lucky this St. Patrick's day with some creamy March snow and moderate temperatures. Basically we searched for that pot'o'gold at the end of the rainbow, and found some pockets of powder instead. Read more for photos.

Early January at W/B, So Far So Good

Today Dana Flahr and the Blackcomb crew lapped Spanky's leaving no pow unslashed, and no cliff unstomped. They have no shame. Watch the video.

W/B No New Snow? No Problem!

The high-pressure system visiting Whistler is acting a lot like the unwelcome couch surfer who sticks around long past their welcome. Oh well, at least it means sunshine and safer backcountry conditions. What better time to go for a walk or two?

Blackcomb Opened Today. It was (surprisingly) Sick.

Good thing someone called me this morning to ask me if I was skiing already, otherwise I would have slept right through a surprise! pow day. Blackcomb opened. It really REALLY opened. Spanky's, the glacier, Seventh.... you could ski pretty much everything. Read more for video.
