Out of Bounds: Tales from the Backcountry <br />Photo Contest & Exhibition <br /> <br />Win a free heliskiing trip with Coast Range Heliskiing! <br /> <br />If you like to go out of bounds with a board or two and a camera, it’s time to bring your images in-bounds to Whistler Arts Council’s 3rd Annual Out of Bounds: Tales from the Backcountry exhibition! <br /> <br />Presented in partnership with Coast Range Heliskiing, Out of Bounds is a popular photo contest and exhibition for both amateur and professional photographers. <br /> <br />This year, Coast Range Heliskiing will again sponsor a People's Choice Award for Best of Show. One photographer and one member of the voting public will win a free helicopter skiing trip with Coast Range Heliskiing. Winners will be announced at the end of February 2007. <br /> <br />The juried exhibition will feature photographers from the Sea to Sky Corridor and Lower Mainland with images of skiing and snowboarding in British Columbia’s beautiful backcountry, whether accessed by foot, snowmobile, helicopter, watercraft or dogsled. <br /> <br />Images will be exhibited throughout the month of February 2007 at Millennium Place and numerous satellite venues around Whistler Village including cafes, retail stores and hotel lobbies. The exhibition kicks off with another packed-house opening reception on the first weekend of February. <br /> <br />Eligible entrants include amateur and professional photographers living in the Sea to Sky Corridor and Lower Mainland (Lillooet to Lions Bay, West & North Vancouver, Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Richmond, Delta, White Rock, Surrey, Langley, Pitt Meadows, Port Moody, Maple Ridge). <br /> <br />An impartial jury will select the photographers who will be showcased and eligible to win. Submissions will be judged on artistic merit, composition, technical skill and adherence to show theme Out of Bounds: Tales from the Backcountry - no chairlifts please!). <br /> <br />Images that have been computer manipulated and/or developed into artwork will also be eligible in a separate category. These images will be exhibited separately and are not eligible for the Heliskiing prize.
