Delirium Dive 12.2-3.06
Submited By alberta_hoser On 2006-12-03
It was a great weekend. No new snow recently and the conditions were windblown in the open and left over pow in some of the trees. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68934.jpg" /> <br />Blue bird conditions on Saturday. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68920.jpg" /> <br />Tom riding down <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68906.jpg" /> <br />Blowing snow <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68919.jpg" /> <br />Jack finding some nice snow in the trees <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68907.jpg" /> <br />Sun beginning to creep over the ridge later on in the morning <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68900.jpg" /> <br />My turn testing the snow out <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68898.jpg" /> <br />Jeff charging down Bre X (?maybe?) <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68899.jpg" /> <br />I love the rockies <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68938.jpg" /> <br />My ski popped off in a no fall zone...the DIN went up a bit after this. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68901.jpg" /> <br />I had no problem ripping the rest of the line though <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68921.jpg" /> <br />Very nice lighting all day long <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68922.jpg" /> <br />Tom getting some in the trees again <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68937.jpg" /> <br />"And that's where I did my triple backflip..." <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68935.jpg" /> <br />Me kicking up some crust <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68939.jpg" /> <br />The sun setting on Saturday. <br /> <br />Sunday was the polar opposite for lighting conditions. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68924.jpg" /> <br />More rocks. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68923.jpg" /> <br />Jeff making the best of the conditions <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68926.jpg" /> <br />It was extremely windy all day. The snow sticking to the signs says it all. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68925.jpg" /> <br />Finding some more nice lines in the trees. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68942.jpg" /> <br />Coming out of a nice turn. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68941.jpg" /> <br />I'm just to fast for Jeff's lazy shutter finger. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68929.jpg" /> <br />Jeff blasting through a small pillow <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68930.jpg" /> <br />Jeff finding more goodness <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68933.jpg" /> <br />I found some more snow off of Goats eye once Delirium had closed for the day. <br /> <br />This line was one of the sickest things I've ever gotten to ski. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68928.jpg" /> <br />The chute is front and center. Very steep and with a small mandatory air in a no fall zone. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68927.jpg" /> <br />This was my angle, lighting conditions were less than optimal. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68902.jpg" /> <br />About to drop in <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68903.jpg" /> <br />Getting ready to point it. I was only able to make 2 turns coming down to this point because the entire chute is slightly slanted towards the large cliff to lookers right. Every time I turned towards that side of the chute it scared the shit out of me if I lost an edge trying to come back. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68904.jpg" /> <br />A small 8 foot drop to finish the line off. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68905.jpg" /> <br />I stomped the landing and straightlined what was left to ski. However the transition between the chute and the bowl was detected by my knees hitting my chest and I collapsed. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68944.jpg" /> <br />Traversing out of the Dive with my heart still pounding. <br /> <br /><img width="490px" src="http://www.biglines.com/photosv2/2006/12/120x120/biglines_68943.jpg" /> <br />The sun peaked through for a few minutes after the Dive closed. An amazing weekend and not a line I'll forget any time soon. :icon_mrgreen:
