Runway Films Sled Trip Dec 17-23

<p><br />Last week Runway Films officially started their first film trip of<br /><br />the season. While there was another film trip going on in Utah at<br /><br />the same time, I was on a crew that headed to the Golden/Revy BC area<br /><br />for a week. I got a brand new sled this year, so I got to test it<br /><br />out. Apparently I think the model I have (146 Everest 800) is<br /><br />having a few problems. By the end of the 6th day, one of my hand<br /><br />warmers wasn't working and from the start my engine had the fuel light<br /><br />on, even if it was full. Dalbs, our photog told me that around<br /><br />200km's, the belts blow. So I guess I'm in for a belt explosion<br /><br />soon. Asides from the mechanical difficulties, I had a great time<br /><br />in Golden. The snow was blower and waist deep. The pillows<br /><br />were sick and our crew had first dibs since we were up early.<br /><br />It's not like Whislter where you have to race 10 other crews to a<br /><br />spot. We only had to race Dustin Craven and friends, who had a<br /><br />heavy night of drinking and ended up appearing after noon. ha.ha.<br /><br />It's usually not the other snowboarders you have to worry about,<br /><br />though. If you intend to hit cliffs, beware of highmarking from<br /><br />the bazillion sledders out there. I guess since Alberta has hit<br /><br />the goldmine in oil, there's a lot more people blazing out in brand new<br /><br />enclosed trailers, 07 sleds and trucks.
