I love eating powder, bbq, and drinking whiskey

So my body aches. I feel like i'm getting old, not old like another year has passed old, old like i need a hip replacement old. But i just turned 26 on Saturday, so wtf. I was riding Vail from Wednesday through Saturday. Wednesday was typical, but thursday through Saturday were solid. It started snowing Wednesday night and kept up until friday afternoon. Not a ton, but enough to fill in tracks and make for plenty of smiles and grins.

The real gem was Friday. After sleeping in my car in the parking garage Thursday night, i was up early and ready for turns, and coffee. We were on the hill maybe seconds after the lifts started spinning. We knew what was good the afternoon before and so started checking off a few musts. We made our way to Blue Sky right as it opened and were treated to great lines and fresh snow most of the afternoon. Mongolia was opened that day after a few days of being closed and was epic. The wildlife preserve proved to be spectacular and our day started to wind down. After a few runs in Northwoods, we knew it was time for some PBRs, whiskey and BBQ and moved like ostriches to Moe's BBQ, the greatest food in the valley. After about 100 ounces of PBR and a few more of Maker's Mark, it was time to call it, for tomorrow was my birthday and we had big plans. I awoke the next day tired and sore. I'd ridden hard the past three days but come on. What happened to the days of ripping powder day after powder day? Damn i'm getting old. Saturday was forecasted as sunny and cold and with an avalanche danger as considerable on north, east, and south facing aspects we were going to have to tread lightly. Instead of tempting fate at Vail Pass, we opted for some Vail BC. We went straight for East Vail and demolished suicide ridge. Deep deep snow and plenty of airs were enjoyed by all. After returning to the resort we headed straight back to East Vail. This time though we decided to rock a mushroom bowl and enjoy the pleasure of returning inbounds. Fuck, that runout sucks. And it was in terrible condition yesterday. The snow was amazing though and made it all worthwhile. When we got back we headed for Moe's and enjoyed more PBR, whiskey and BBQ. It was a great way to spend a birthday.
