<p><br /><br /></p><br /><p><br />welcome to banff, the real locals <br /></p><br /><p><br /> <br /></p><br /><p><br />powies on the hill and snowing in squamish! yeah the hill's rolling good for the end of november.<br /></p><br /><p><br />the last week was a little crazy for me.. right before opening day on whis (which i actually missed) i had national team physical testing in the city on the thursday, drove to banff on friday, rode sunshine on saturday, navin's noggin fundraiser sat night, drove back on here on sunday, had a Rona day on monday in the city, splitboarding on tuesday, then finally been riding the hill since. and the pow day yesterday was real fun.<br /></p><br /><p><br />Rona helps out some olympic athletes, so part of the deal is we show up at events for them. this one was for a Fabrication shop in the east side of the city. they;re working with vanoc (2010 olympics) to teach at risk groups how to be carpenters through 6 month courses i think while builders podiums, ski racks, etc for the olympics.. it was a pretty big deal i think. vancouver mayor was there, ceo's of Rona and vanoc, tons of press for the shop. it's a pretty amazing program they've created.<br /></p><br /><p><a href="http://www.untrackedlines.com/?q=node/136">read more</a></p>
