Submited By Egon Spangler On 2007-11-19
The pilgrimage has been made. Egon is in Whistler.
The drive went fine. Snow was coming down S1-2 on the Duffy Lake road. It was a little greasy, but the truck made it without getting too close to any ditches.
I've now settled in to my temporary digs in a friend's garage. It's a stylie location. A tuning bench not more than three steps from my bed, and an as yet uncounted number of skis and boards living in the room with me. Everywhere I look a reminder of why I'm here.
I visited my future-place-of-employment yesterday. I'm looking forward to tuning again this year. It's high volume, and the shop has the best reputation going, so it should be an excellent place to work. All my shifts will start at three, so I can hit the hill every day.

Speaking of the hill, my pass is still under construction so my info is second hand, but it sounds like some decent skiing up there. Skiers are still downloading as there isn't a base on the lower part of the hill. Blackcomb opens on Thursday.
