Winter is Here, All.I.Can Sneak Peak, Eric Hjorleifson and 30 Thoughts
Submitted by Peakz on Tue, 2011-08-23 14:27Winter is in full flow now. Funny how it works because summer’s good weather has finally arrived but as far as the industry is concerned, it’s winter. The big titles have dropped their new magazines and most world premiers for movies will be held in the next month. That means from now on it’s just a steady stream of winter focused events and news and that vacation is over for us at Biglines.com. Look for increased content posts soon. With that in mind here’s my first 30 thoughts blog for winter 2011/12.
Welcome to Spring plus 30 Thoughts
Submitted by Peakz on Mon, 2011-03-21 19:53Winter turned to Spring today but it officially happened for me on Friday. That was my first day out skiing in the sun and warm air. Spring brings a whole new focus and style to skiing that makes it my favourite time to slide on snow. The long days are all about cold mornings and hot afternoons. The streets in town melt and grass goes green but we chase the pow as it lingers up high and on progressively north and steeper faces.
TR: Avalanche Peak-Rogers Pass-Feb. 2011
Submitted by Peakz on Tue, 2011-02-22 12:48Sunday Feb. 20, my friend James Martin and I made plans to ski tour in Rogers Pass. James calls me frequently to go out with him to this zone but I rarely have a chance to go. Sunday was to be our long awaited day together. We both wanted to do something rad and we felt the conditions would probably allow us to get on something steep. James had the idea of Avalanche Peak and I couldn't think of anything better to do so we left Golden at 7am with our goal mostly set on this objective.
First Night in Denver SIA 2011
Submitted by Peakz on Wed, 2011-01-26 23:53It's 10pm and I'm in a cheap (figuratively and not literally) hotel bed in Denver. I'm trying to coax an ounce of creativity for this blog I'm supposedly keeping. My laptop has been staring ominously at me for a couple hours but I'm not in the mood and I really don't want my first entry being about what has been the hardest 24 hours of our month long road trip.

The first line we skied. My first run of the season. It was pretty wind and sun effected.
OldMan Couloir: first run of the year for me. It would have been sick before the wind blew. It wasn't that good. Dec 28, 2009
IF3 Ovation for McConkey
Submitted by Peakz on Mon, 2009-09-21 09:09An eerie and very strong shiver ran up my spine as I physically reacted to the start of 'Bro Hymn', by Pennywise, at the Imperial Theater in Montreal this weekend. The song blared out during the curtains segment, of the final movie of the three day, IF3 film festival.

Submitted by Peakz on Fri, 2009-09-18 08:39Ski movie season for me kicked off in unique form last night, as the newschool(ers) tribe gathered in the heart of old Montreal for an outdoor screening of Transitions; a new movie about Simon Dumont. It was a cool vibe to see a bunch of skiers, watching rad images, surrounded by old buildings and even though there wasn't a mountain insight, the stoke was strong. The movie was cool enough to keep even an oldschooler like me interested and it was a successful evening that ended at some fancy club with high security.
