The avalanche conditions in the Rockies, Purcells, Selkirks and Kootenays of western Canada are the worst they've been in decades and backcountry enthusiasts are being asked not to venture out. The danger is rated EXTREME for most regions, even below treeline.
Please keep this in-mind as the skys clear and the desire to shred all the new snow outside of area boundries will be very tempting.
