This was a "Wildcard" entry put together for the Deep Winter Photo Comp 2008 in Whistler, BC. It was produced by two amateur photographers/skiers during the same three days as the pro shooters.
During the 3 days that the
Deep Winter Photo Comp was taking place, Matt Watkins and myself shot a bunch of pics and put together a slideshow. The hope was that Whistler-Blackcomb would at least watch our slideshow and maybe include it as a "Wildcard"...bring some amateurs into the mix. Unfortunately, due to time constraints of the organizers, we were unable to talk the organizers into showing our slideshow. We had a fun three days of deep snow and shooting the many inbounds places of WB.
Our slideshow is titled "The Early Lows of January" highlighting the poor light and deep snow that Whistler and Blackcomb received during three stormy days in January. The winner of the comp, Jordan Manley, put together an incredible show, displaying his creativity and artistic abilities behind the lens; congrats to him.
Thanks for reading/watching and we'll see you on the slopes for another few months of Spring/Summer skiing in BC or Winter powder in NZ.
