We have plenty of reviews on all the high-tech fabrics, ski flexes and the on-mountain performance of everything from gloves to socks, but skiing isn't always about the on-mountain. We all know that. What you wear to apre-ski is just as important and what better occasion to splurge on some steezie threads than for the dawning of another "patio season" at the Whistler Ski and Snowboard Festival. We put together a street ensemble from some of the brands that make the best shredding outerwear to allow you to put the "ski" in "apre-ski".

From head to toe, here we go…

Discrete Toque- Yeah, it’s a toque. Nothing more. No high technology here, just bright colors and simple styles. Founded by huckster Julian Carr in partnership with the late Billy Poole, Discrete is a ground roots brand. It might be spring, but the breeze is still chilly.

Smith Serpico Aviators- Need we introduce either Smith or the classic style of the Aviator. Timeless, dare I say it sexy, and well, still packed with a ton of technology. The Serpico comes with either polarized or non-polarized 9x3 Tortic Carbonic TLT Lens’ and metal frames. Oversize lens’ and Smith’s lifetime warranty make this investment in style long term. Good thing aviators won’t be going out of fashion anytime soon.

Feel free to insert a bandanna around you neck if you feel it necessary. We don’t.

Orage Zippered Sweater- What is their tag line? "Innovation through style." No real innovation needed this time around, but definitely high on style. A fitted cut and patterned trim means your friends sporting hoodies won’t disown you and nor with your girlfriend’s parents.

Peak Performance Jeans- Jeans are jeans I know, but jeans you appreciate are like friends. They will have your back(side) everywhere you go from drinking with your buddies, to biking, a job interview (ski town jobs that is) to road trippin', and a date. Designed by Swedes who know a thing or two about style these bad boys are a solid bet for any patio session.

Sanuk Sandals- Sanuk aren’t all that new to the sandal business, it’s just that they spend more time surfing the reef out the front of their office in California to really care. Going on 8 years in business, their first sandal was made from indoor-outdoor carpet, just like Jeff Kelley's backyard. Jeff is the founder and owner of the company and wanted to walk around barefoot all the time, hence the material inspiration for that first sandal. The Donny is a casual, canvas slip on sandal that you can also lock in as a shoe. Super comfortable, in the summer these are beach cruisers and apre table dancing shoes in the winter.

To keep things in perspective, which is to say that we don’t take ourselves to seriously here at Biglines, we had to include "What not to wear". You decide which pieces in the following outfit aren't your style.

Cheers to patio drinking…
