Henrik Windstedt has had an amazing start of his international freeride career with two wins and one second place at the five contests of the Freeride World Tour. The four best out of five competitions was counted. With this impressive score the 24 year old Swede is the Freeride World Champion 2008 in the skiersÕ category.

- It is just insane to become World Champion! It is a great concept with the tour. There are interesting prize money and a bigger interest from the public and media, said the talented Swede who has previously been racing successfully in alpine, moguls and big air.

A history of success and injuries

Peak Performance signed Henrik Windstedt in the summer 1999 after he won the famous competition King of the Hill in RiksgrŠnsen, Sweden, at the age of 16. After that, Henrik developed his skiing strongly every year and performed well in many disciplines and movies. To list a few;

1st Red Bull Big Air 2000, Junior World Champion Moguls 2002
2nd slopestyle US Open 2004
5 victories in the Scandinavian Big Mountain Championships.
Movie segments in Happy Days, Teddybear Crisis, Not Another Ski Movie, 3 of the Free Radical movies and Ready, Fire, Aim.
Above that more than 10 magazine covers and uncountable number of published photos.

In January 2006 Henrik injured his back, a broken disk. He could not ski fully until April 2007.

- I have been training like crazy, hundreds of hours in the gym. And I keep training very hard. Becoming Freeride World Tour winner surprises me. I never doubted my level of skiing but I thought my lack of experience in big mountains was too big to win. However, after some good results, of course I aimed for the top. It feels so good to be called World Champion, says Henrik with a big smile on his face.

Peak Performance focus on freeskiing

The partnership with Henrik Windstedt is one of many sponsoring activities done by Peak Performance to strengthen the communication of the brand as a true ski clothing brand. Peak Performance has the ambition to be a major player in modern skiing.

- Freeskiing is the part of the sport that is definitely closest to our heritage, our products and the kind of skiing we like to do whenever we can. Skiing powder is part of this company.
