Its shaping up as a battle of the locals this time around with former Fernie transplant Eric Young keeping his greasy hands all over top spot and 3 other Ferndogs in the top 5. Luke Nelson, Aaron Schmidt, and Jamie McDermid sit 3,4 and 5 respectively. Mathieu Gagnon Theriault is the lone out of towner in the top 5, Hes currently sitting in 2nd.
Fernie owns the womens group aswell with Janina Kuzma sitting in top spot with grom sensation Shannon Whalen, competing in her first freeski comp sitting in third. Karolina Ekman is in 4th while the legend Martha Burley rounds out the top 5.

Day two offered peddle to the metal, sphincter renching action, as well as a special appearance from the myth himself. the great Malk Dizzle. Malks stole the show with a poached run down the venue and a sender that got the rest of the field stoked. Malks, in heroic fashion, aired the bottom gnar into a mean straightline past the finish and out of sight, just as the ski nazis mounted ski doo's to persue him.
Theres 20 left for the final, which is going down on Polar Peak tomorrow.
Its shaping up to be a hell of a final.
