The Dominator goggle is a righteous tool for seeing your way through an overhead day on the hill or in the backcountry. Zeal Optics, straight out of Moab Utah, are a zealous bunch. Zeal, the Greek word for "extreme passion in the pursuit of what you do", is what these guys are all about. Based smack in the middle of a powder, climbing and biking Mecca, you can't help but believe these guys practice what they preach.

The first, and most important feature of the Dominator Goggle is the Zeal's exclusive auto light adjusting polarized lens technology. What does that mean? It means the ZB-13 lens intuitively changes tint according to to the light conditions at that time- in bright light it becomes darker, and in less light, the lens brightens. Crazy I know, but some how the have managed to perfect the idea and it works. This eliminates the need for swapping lenses in and out as you drop from the tram and bluebird skies through the inversion and into the fog below. Checkout the SLIDER to see it in practice.

If it is particularly dark and cold, they even throw in a low light, yellow lens to interchange. All Zeal lenses are NO FOG to boot. No, I mean really. The lens have an anti-fog agent infused into the inner lens material as they are being made. You cant scratch it off. Ever. Sweet.

The Dominator is for medium sized faces and the triple density foam conforms well to your face and wicks moisture. One thing I did like, is that the foam isn't too thin. On a blower day, I find the finest powder crystals will actually pass through some other brands foam, but that didn't seem to happen with the Dominators. The rubberized helmet strap kept them firmly in place through bumpy traverse tracks, the odd air and occasional bail.

Aggressive lines make the goggles look cool, but what is even cooler is the bonus protective hard case that comes with them. It holds your goggles and spare lenses and protects them from lazy airport staff or when sleeping on your ski pack after an epic drinking session post epic powder day.

Once the goggles are built, Zeal have taken it one step further. They use fully recyclable PET plastic to package their product, and the protective cases are made from recycled plastics. Zeal, as the name implies, suggests these guys are committed to what they do, and from their product to their philosophy, the name fits.
