While summer is so close here in Whistler and the rest of the Northern Hemisphere, the snow has begun to fly in South America. Termas de Chillan in Chile received the biggest dump on Wednesday covering the whole resort. Chile's coolest resort and secret gem is a must visit place getting there by a cool train or flight from Santiago to Concepcion (2 hours from Termas de Chillan).

Las Lenas, Argentina received a decent dusting as well as you can see by this photo on the right. You can see that still need some more snow but they are well on their way and Eduardo's is looking in good shape. The Hotel Escorpio In Las Lenas is already sold out of all Single and Double rooms August 18-September 1. Portillo, Chile also got some decent nieve as you can see by the photos below. If you want to go to Portillo you should enquire now as they only have availability in their hotel left for 2 weeks, August 18-31.

Do you already really miss winter and can't wait for the South American season to start? If you live in the Vancouver/Seattle area Sunday June 3rd is the last day of the season for normal operations on Blackcomb Mountain and of course that means Gaper Day.

Reservations for Bariloche, Argentina
have been very busy for this coming
season due to the epic winter last year
and all their new lifts and renovated
base area at Cerro Catedral ski resort.
Bariloche's appeal is that they have a
big town with tons of different kind
of restaurants, bars, shops and local
art and clothes. Bariloche is
surrounding by beautiful lakes and trees
making this a popular destination even
for the non skier or snowboarder.
As Bariloche is a town we are happy
