Salt Lake City, Utah, December, 6 2006– Through a collaboration of professional skiers and the Utah environmental community, Sustainable Seasons has been created. Envisioned by professional skier Jack Nelson, the program will use professional athletes throughout the Wasatch and their extensive travel schedule and visibility at ski resorts across the west to help promote the use of alternative fuels and a more sustainable lifestyle.

The flagship of the program will be the Sustainable Seasons biodiesel powered truck used for the teams travels. Sustainable Seasons will accomplish its goals through the visibility of their truck, demonstrations on alternative fuels and sustainability, and an active involvement with the media. Running solely on biodiesel, the truck will serve as an example of viable alternative fuel vehicle readily available in today’s market place.

To help raise funds for the project, Sustainable Seasons will begin an ongoing online auction starting December 18, 2006. Products have been donated by sponsors and even the athletes themselves. The auction will continue throughout the season, helping to fund the purchase of a vehicle for the project, as well as the travels of the Sustainable Seasons team.

The program is partnered with the Utah Biodiesel Cooperative and Utah Clean Cities to help spread its messages of sustainability and alternative fuel use.

right, because everybody really listens to household figures like pro skiers, hell most skiers can't even name pro skiers not that the idea is bad, i give the dude credit, but until paris hilton or britney spears starts tatooing "use bio fuel" across their junk the general public will not notice any campaign....
