What makes you passionate about snowboarding?

Snowboarding makes me feel alive, I feel that adrenalin rush every time. It's so satisfying!!

What are your aspirations in snowboarding?

I would love to involve myself in more competitions. Preferably big mountain comps if only they would allow snowboarders to compete in more of them.

Who are your current role models or who inspires you?

Ryan Johannesen is definitely my biggest role model, he has inspired and taught me more than anyone else. I will also always look up to Victoria Jealouse and Annie Boulanger the leaders in female big mountain riding.

What is your greatest personal achievement in the mountains? (Competition/Line/Trip)

A line I rode last winter which took a lot of mental prep. I've never felt so pumped in my life. By the time I had reached the bottom I couldn't decide whether I was in contact with snow or sort of floating above. Definitely the longest and steepest for me.

How have you dedicated your life to the mountains and adventure?

Well I moved from Cochrane A.B. to Golden B.C. to guide rafts for a summer 5 years ago. It didn't take long to decide that I was going to stay for a while. Since I've had Kicking Horse Resort in my backyard snowboarding has become kind of an obsession. I work 2 to 3 jobs summer and fall to afford my winter lifestyle.

Why have you dedicated your life to mountain pursuits?

Because the lifestyle is amazing and fulfilling, I mean when you can wake up and choose between biking, hiking, climbing, kayaking, snowboarding, sledding etc. and it's all in your back yard you know life's good.

What are some things the mountains have taught you that have proven valuable in the real world?

Respect. Respect will keep you alive out there. Respect yourself, your health, surroundings and those around you.

How will the scholarship enable you to further pursue your skiing aspirations?

I think this scholarship is a great opportunity for myself as an amature rider to become a little more recognized within the industry and begin to progress to the next step.

How can you be a Biglines.com ambassador?

Well I can have a big mouth when I want to. I do travel a bit in the winter to different resorts across A.B. and B.C. and I'm good with stickers.
