Heads up, because the Matchstick Movie Tour is coming at you! Be the first in your town to witness the much-anticipated release of “PUSH!” The lucky folks of Whistler, BC get first dibs for the World Premiere of “PUSH” on September 21, setting off the 2006 Matchstick Movie Tour that will hit over 100 cities world wide, all on the big screen!
The Matchstick Movie Tour has always been the place to get stoked for the upcoming winter. The stoke increases in 2006 with new venues, entertainment and after parties! New venues include the Fremont Studios in Seattle, WA featuring a 40 ft. HD screen, and San Francisco’s Club X is sure to provide sensory overload with many elaborate stage shows. Portland, OR promises to be nothing but a good time at the hottest spot in town, the Doug Fir Lounge. We’ve left the chapel and are heading to the club in Burlington, VT as “PUSH” makes its debut at the Higher Ground. The original fun houses are still in effect including the Boulder Theatre, the Gothic Theatre in Denver, Salt Lake’s East High School, The Emerson in Bozeman, MT, and the notorious Red Hook Brewery in Portsmouth, NH. Battle Axe Records recording artists Sweatshop Union showcase their harmonious hip-hop style at select stops and after parties. Be sure to arrive early to meet the athletes, enter to win the night’s prizes and a trip to Whistler Blackcomb.

The movie will be available on DVD, on October 15th, 2006.

“PUSH” showcases the best skiers in the world, including Shane McConkey, Simon Dumont, Sarah Burke, Mike Douglas, Hugo Harrisson, and many more. These skiers travel the globe all winter flying in helicopters to access remote mountains and visit some of the most spectacular ski areas in the world. Our athletes are known for taking the unimaginable and making it reality. Simon Dumont, arguably the best half pipe skier in the world, surpasses supremacy with his mind blowing solo segment in a perfect Park City pipe. A marketing dream child, not only for her good looks but her big mountain skills, Ingrid Backstrom, blurs the lines between the men and women by throwing down with style from Norway to Alaska. Whistler Blackcomb spares no expense in building a huge 90 ft. tabletop jump, only to be absolutely destroyed by newcomer Sammy Carlson and third year MSP player Rory Bushfield in the session of the season. The Godfather himself, Mike Douglas leads the Salomon team on a journey of discovery to Japan and a new ski area in China. Helly Hansen team rider Mark Abma, skier of the year 2005, puts in another segment sure to be nominated for the award again in 2007.

Push Teaser 14mgs

Pull Teaser 7.4mgs

Always seeking balance, Matchstick is proud to announce the release of “PULL.” PULL is an all-athlete edited film that plays at select tour stops and is included with PUSH in the DVD case. “I think it is really cool, to get the athletes directly involved in the post production, giving the viewer a little insight into the skiers tastes and thought processes, “ says Executive Producer Murray Wais, “it is also a really good deal to get two DVDs for the price of one.”

Starring: Mark Abma, Rory Bushfield, Ingrid Backstrom, Shane McConkey, Sarah Burke, Simon DuMont, Mike Douglas, Hugo Harrisson, Eric Pollard, Sammy Carlson, Eric Hjorliefson, JT Holmes, Chris Rubens, Daron Rhalves and Mike Wilson.
