"Chris has just come off a wicked season. He rips the shit out of Kicking Horse and the Golden sled country with agility and power. I think Chris has the potential to take his riding to the next level."

How have you dedicated your life to the Mtn’s and adventure?
I’ve lived in the Mountains since the beginning. I grew up in Manning Provincial Park till I was eighteen. As soon as I was done high school, I
moved here to Golden where I now call my, winter and summer, home. I spend my winters riding the Kicking Horse backcountry and my summers kayaking the Kicking Horse River! I also teamed up with Ryan Johannesen and my brother(Tim Barker) to form Big Mountain Canada Productions, a film company dedicated solely to filming insane mountain pursuits.
Why have you dedicated your life to mountain pursuits?
Why would I choose to do anything else? What better feeling is there then, straight lining a chute or paddling through some class 4 rapids? You can’t get that type of rush from anywhere else! Then, for the rest of the day your body is completely relaxed but your mind is buzzing. Not to sound cheesy but it makes you feel alive.
What are some things the mountains have taught you that have proven valuable
in the real world?
Respect. Self Accomplishment. And that life is too short to care about materialistic things.
