April 19th Recap
Whistler/Blackcomb is a fun place to be in the spring. The mountains are massive and you can ALWAYS find good riding. There’s pow in the forecast and once the clouds break this place will go off. The World Ski and Snowboard Festival is the reason we’re all here and what we’ve seen has been awesome; it seems as if we’ve been either shredding or drunk for the bulk of the events though. After three full days of shralping conditions optimistically described as technical, our crew is starting to feel a little more on top of our boards.

We’ve been following locals Matty, Dommer and Kris through some of the rowdier terrain these mountains have to offer. Despite stiff conditions, these boys are linking smooth pillow lines and dropping solid airs. Riding with this posse can be unnerving, but they’re showing us the goods so it’s worth the occasional stubbed back..
One of the highlights of the weekend came after feeling our way down some icy gnar. Out of the fog came the best skier of the weekend. He was wearing blue jeans and and a backwards Ft.Lauderdale hat. He was European and had decided to bypass the practicality of goggles. He told us he thought the skiing was “quite good” and proved it by displaying some sick skills in the icy bumps.
April 21st Entry
Well it's been a few days since the first installment and things, as the weatherman promised, have gotten ALOT better. On the very night that our Flames destroyed the Canucks, we got about 10 cms. The sun's been shining of rhte last couple of days and the nights have been cool enought to suck the poisture out of the pow. There's buttery pow in the alpine right now and the sun's supposed to stick around for a few days.
Unfortunately this kid has gotta get back to the rockies. Whistler has sucked my funds dry and my healthy diet of two faceplants a day is taking a real toll on my spine.
Our last day here is gonna send me home with a smile though. After dropping one of the funnest lines of my life with a few good friends who I haven't skied with all year, we atched the boys pick their way down a harrowing 3000 foot line. Everything worked out great so now its time to partake in the festivities.
The festival staff treats us all incredibly. Whistler’s fun.
