CALGARY, ALBERTA – Springtime in the Rockies is an awesome time to visit, take in the fantastic skiing, exclusive events and great weather. This spring, Kimberley, Fernie and Lake Louise will be full of unique and fun events and a chance to get in as much skiing as possible before the season
ends..
Fernie kicks off the spring events with Snow Jam, on April 3rd. This outdoor music festival runs from mid-afternoon to early evening, with live bands in the village plaza. Sit back and take in the great music. Oh ya…and there is some great skiing to be had on the slopes as well! To finish off the season, be sure to get your team together, or if you are really ambitious take on the PPP solo. The annual Powder Pedal Paddle will hit the slopes, roads and river of Fernie, on April 17th. Be sure to register early, as this event fills up.
The RCR Big Air Snowboard Competition will stop at Lake Louise, on April 4th. Watch the best riders crank out some of the biggest and wildest tricks. Lake Louise’s Spring Festival will kick in April 19 through the 24th. Experience a blast from the past with the Fast Times at Lake Louise – Flashback to the 80’s. Get involved in tubing competitions, the Kokanee King and Queen of the mountain, snow volleyball, the Dating Game and Name that Tune. The best-dressed 80’s outfits will receive prizes throughout the festival days. Lake Louise will finish the season with a splash! The 4th annual Splashdown will take place, on May 9th. Check out the costumes on the crazy skiers and riders trying to clear a pool of cold water! The $10 entry fee will be donated to The Children’s Wish Foundation.
The splash will also be chilling Kimberley this spring, when they hold the annual Spring Splash, on April 10th to 11th. This is one of the best spring parties in the Rockies, to watch or participate in the many events or to
enjoy the views from the deck and the live music. The ultimate dummy downhill event, The Lewzer Launch, is returning for its 3rd year. Kimberley really swings into spring mode with the Downhill Mountain Bike Race. Get your mountain bike out for this race to the bottom.
