Dave B, “Big mountain Hunting champ of Pemberton” summed it up to a T at 10:30 last night as we rolled into the truck parking lot on our sleds after a 14 hour day: “We haven’t seen such a perfect weather window like this in 2 years!”
After a nice coastal snowstorm, came 5 days of un-wind affected high pressure. We saw it coming and took full advantage by hitting some of our favorite zones in the Pemberton area, including a peak I’ve had my eye on since I moved here 5 years ago... Mt. Sampson; the highest peak in the area at 3380 meters, with a beautiful North face on the inner side of the mountain.
I consider myself so blessed to be living in a time and place where the mountains have great snow, technology is at a place where it is relatively easy to get to the top of mountains, fuel prices are decent enough to make it affordable, and good friends are ready to give’r at a moments notice.
Club Members: Daryl Treadway, Cheddar Watson, Samuel Casavant, Vanessa Stark, and Dave B.
Thanks for the memories.
