Once Upon a Time in Alaska

I don’t know how long I’ve wanted to go to Alaska. It seems like forever. I could have gone there a while ago but alone. And one of the purposes when you are sponsored is to bring back images, be it stills or video—the best is both. This means going with two more people. Last year, finally, I have the right team and time to make the trip. We spent almost three weeks up there.

What you are about to see is the short version of the video I made about my trip to Alaska. You can watch the full 20-minute version on my website, www.XavierLeonti.com. While this short version is focused on my skiing in Alaska, I tried to make the full version as much about the history of the place as the skiing. It is not completed as I wanted but you don't always choose. I did my best, just keep in mind my first and only real skill is as a skier! I just try to direct and edit the way I see things and the way I want them to be seen. This is Episode 1 and, with a bit of luck, next April I’ll be on the top of a mountain, waiting for the countdown for Episode 2...
