Early Season Recap - November 2013

Yip Yow! Winter has arrived (ish) in Western Canada. Early to mid-November has seen decent coverage from The Rockies to The Coastal Range. But it's come to the point now where skis are being thrown on bonfires and people are doing their own various versions of The Snow Dance....

We need some snow, man. But that hasn't stopped people from making the best of what we do have...

It's looking like a pulse of snow is coming through on the weekend, at least out here on The Coast.

In the meantime, this is a brief little shred recap of the last week on The Western Canadian ski scene.

Happy winter everyone...stay safe and enjoy yourselves out there...

Chris Mosely captured this pic of Etienne Labelle enjoying the spoils under The Top of the World Chair on Lake Louise's Frontside...

The best photos we've seen all week have come from Roger's Pass, like this beaut here that Chris Rubens snapped of Sean Cochrane.

No new snow means stability in Roger's Pass, which allowed people to get after it out there. Here's a shot from Sean Cochrane of Leslie Hogg doing just that.

We had an unreal week of shredding on Whistler Mountain up til a few days ago when a warm spell came in. But even then, the groomers were amazing. And the best news is that Blackcomb opened yesterday, so the mountains are more than ready for the dump that's supposed to hit this weekend.

This is a shot of Phillipe Melanson taking in a self-propelled lap off the Peak Chair.
