Cold Smoke Powder Fest in Nelson - PART 2 w/ VIDEO

After an action packed day of shooting races and comps, stuffing ourselves at  the buff-eh and partying at a remote Kootenay home to live reggae, Graeme and I decided to take it easy on sunday. Touring was off the cards as we were rocked up to the hill way too late. I decide to demo some Black Diamond Havoc skis to deal with the hard conditions and we head up hunting for powder.

The one zone in the resort that we could eye for shots was on Powder Keg, the venue of the previous day's comp. The landings were a bit bombed from all the failed verts but there were still some powder pillows left. Graeme mutters as he begins to hike, I just sit back and line up the shot.

This was our first Coldsmoke Festival and our first visit to Whitewater, hopefully the start of a new annual trip. The skiing community of Nelson has amazing support for this festival, something you can see on all the locals faces. A big shout out to Whitewater Resort for providing the most fitting venue for the ski events and thanks to all the industry sponsors who continue to support this amazing annual event.

Until next year.
